Dr Tharani Thirugnana Chandran qualified from the University of Leeds with a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. She completed postgraduate training in General Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Stroke in the UK.

She worked as a Consultant Stroke Physician and Geriatrician at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. She completed further training in Neurology in Melbourne.

She is currently undertaking a Translational Research PhD in Stroke Medicine at Monash University with particular interest in Stroke, General Neurology and Stroke Medicine and Neurological conditions in the older patients.
