Dr. Ruchira Goonawardena is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist working in both the public and private sectors. She completed her primary medical degree, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2007 in Sri Lanka and then specialized in Psychiatry, followed by further specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Ruchira became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) in 2022 and has completed the Certificate of Advanced Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Ruchira Goonawardena is experienced in assessing and treating a variety of mental health conditions, including neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and ASD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma, and psychosis. In addition to English, she speaks Sinhala and has worked with diverse patient populations and families.
