Dr. Virupakshappa Bagewadi has completed his undergraduate degree from RGUHS (Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences), Karnataka, India and obtained both, Diploma in Psychological Medicine (DPM) and Doctor of Medicine(MD), in Psychiatry from prestigious institute -NIMHANS (National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bengaluru, India) before he moved with family to Melbourne. Dr Bagewadi went on to complete his fellowship in psychiatry (FRANZCP) from The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists at Melbourne. Dr. Bagewadi provides his clinical expertise to both public and private services. In addition to clinical work, he is also experienced in leadership role in a community mental health services under public sector. Dr. Bagewadi's areas of expertise include the diagnosis and treatment of general adult psychiatry disorders, more particularly mood and anxiety disorders. He is committed to providing patient-centered care that is both evidence-based and personalized to the individual needs of each patient. Dr. Bagewadi is an advocate for preventative care and enjoys working with patients to create individualized plans to optimize their health and wellness.
