Telecare offers one off veteran health checks for veterans. We provide an initial GP consult, referral for psychiatry, psychology and other specialist assessments where necessary. Patient wait times average 2-3 weeks, meaning you won’t have to put your health on hold. Our fees are covered by the Department of Veteran Affairs for DVA card holders.

Telecare offers GP services for veterans to help them get started with and/or to support their medical needs. Below is a typical process a veteran might go through to obtain their initial GP consultation.

01.

identify
Representatives or advocates for veterans identify individuals in need of medical assessment and assistance with completing the D9287 diagnosis form.

02.

verify
Advocates or representatives verify that a veteran lacks a regular General Practitioner (GP) and is unable to secure a local GP willing to accept them as a regular patient.

03.

Veteran health Check
Advocates refer veterans to telecare GPs for a comprehensive one off veteran health check covered by Medicare.

04.

further evaluation
Telecare GP fills in D9287 Diagnosis form based on outcomes of health assessment, and refers patient for further specialist evaluation as appropriate (pending DVA approval to pay for such assessments)
